I’m not a writer,
nor a poet,
nor a painter.
I’m not a lost soul,
nor a student,
nor a teacher.
I’m not a follower,
nor a leader,
nor a stand-in-liner.
I’m not searching for myself,
nor finding something else,
nor longing to belong.
I am trust,
and I am my truth,
and I am my story.
I am telling,
and I am singing,
and I am my song.
I am this moment.
I am these words,
I am this page.
I am more,
I am enough.
I am becoming.
Found this blog when searching self-love and read on. I went back pretty far. Knowing your story is a blessing for sure, knowing when you are addicted to your story and then re-writing it is growth-and truly brave… valuable truth.

Thank you!
I appreciate you finding me and taking an interest, very nice of you.
I really like this – particularly the closing lines. What a simple, yet inspiring message of hope, elegantly written.
Thank you so much. Your comment is very encouraging.
The way I see it, you are becoming one amazing writer/poet/painter of words ๐
Thank you my friend. Two steps forward, three steps backwards, 1 step sideways. ๐
Wow! you are becoming who you already are.
Awww — that made me smile. Thank you.
love this one, direct and powerful.

Loved this Becky–“the courage to be”
Thank you Audrey — I hope to always have the courage to be.
True, true. We are becoming. And, in a round about way, used ur blog art at the top as inspiration for my post today. Really liked ur poem.
Thank you! Read your poem… awesome.
A wonderful poem about self-realization.
In your About Me page, you say ” I am experiencing some profound changes in my life…. Donโt give up on me, I just might turn out okay.”
You know what? I’m sure you will.
Thank you… I’m beginning to think so too.
You’re Becky.
That’s more than good enough for me.
BIG smile. Thank you Lance.
Dear Becky, I loved the ever-shifting nature of this poem as I believe it accurately reflects the ever-changing person. Lovely and inspiring. I love your song. It’s beautiful. love love love, Mosk
Oh, thank you so much Mosk. You are so encouraging, I want to carry your words around with me all the time.
(Written 5 years and two blogs ago – take me with you)
Print Me Out
Print me out
and hold me in
your tender hand
because even though
I was made on
a computer
I was born of a person
and his soul
is embedded
between the blank space
and the letters
print me out
and carry me
in your back pocket
as you climb high into
your secret tree
where you write
your poetry and
daydream โtil dusk
and then
when you come home
unfold me
and set me beside
your bowl of soup
to remind you
that I am here
print me out
and fold me
into an airplane
and send me sailing
to a bored classmate
across the room
print me out
and tack me up
with a magnet
on your refrigerator
and when youโre
reaching for the milk
tomorrow morning
know that I have
been here
waiting for you
print me out
to remind yourself
that I am more than
just paper and words
I am real
I am flesh and bone
sadness and glory
but when you read me
I am no longer alone
print me out
and save my life.
Wonderful!
Thank you for sharing this.
love this… feeling much the same way myself these days… we are always becoming, aren’t we?
Yes, we are.
I like the thought of becoming being a constant, you know?
Thank you my friend!
nice…love the progression…the becoming…esp. touched by..
I am trust,
and I am my truth,
and I am my story.
I am telling,
and I am singing,
and I am my song
Thank you Claudia!
I actually started with a totally different poem in mind and then started this half way through — now I need to see what I can do with that other half!
There are a lot of the “I am/I am not” type of poems out there – and I usually hate them. Yours, though, puts a bit of a new spin on it which I can appreciate!
Thank you… I think. Wait… yes, thank you! So glad you found me!
You have a distinct style, Becky, and your poems always stand out for me, even after I’ve read dozens–I could cover up your name and know you’d written this. Love it all, but especially “and I am singing and I am my song..” I would officially ‘like’ this, but wordpress is hating me today and won’t let me.
Big huge smile. Thank you so very much. I’m humbled by your comment.
stunning!

Aww — blushing.
You think, therefore, you yam. Tee! Hee! “A Time for Becoming”, just great. Keep after it, this great attitude of yours. You are 2 a poet…
Big smile. Thank you!
