Breathe.
Laugh.
Hug.
Watch a movie.
Taste the dry bitter wine at my favorite restaurant.
Go to California.
Wake up in Santa Cruz.
Walk on the beach and laugh at all the shit that got me there.
Sleep.
Dream.
Wake-up.
Cry.
Hold hands.
Remember.
Forget… again.
Listen to Adele.
Run.
Run… faster.
Run… longer.
Run… in Santa Cruz.
Fly first class.
Take the train.
Take the subway… in New York.
Be published.
Breathe… some more.
Make out.
Make up.
Make art.
Hike.
Read.
Be forgiven.
Be remembered.
Be small.
Be big.
Yell.
Whisper.
Wear a little black dress.
Trust… again.
Be trusted… again.
Listen.
Listen… to the wind in the dense trees.
Drive.
Drive… a moped.
Drive… a convertible
Drive… a convertible in Santa Cruz.
Create.
Enjoy.
Remember… “not busy being born is busy dying.”
Sigh.
Think.
Love.
Conjure a story from nothing.
Breathe — deep, often, purposeful.
Live.
Yes! Makes me want to jump up & live MORE.
Thank you Liz. You make me smile.
Yes live for the moment, i applaud!!
Thank you. It’s more of a reminder of what’s here to live for, the things that may seem unattainable but are just within our reach… or something like that.
love this, very powerful word flow.
🙂
Thank you very much.
awesome list, may it be fulfilled. Did you start yet? :-p It’s that time of the year for most people and I have two for this year, good luck with yours it looks fun!
Thanks, we’ll see how it goes. Good luck.
wonderful reminder to live life to its fullest. well done! thanks, hugs, pat
Thank you Pat… a good hug is also worth living for. 😉
Excellent.
🙂
Oops, I hit the button too fast. I love this, there are even convertible rides! This poem makes me feel good. It makes me feel like grabbing the wheel and driving all the way to California with the top down and the wind in my curls. I hope everything on this list is something you get to do, if you haven’t already. And lots of little black dresses and making out. 😉
🙂 Thank you Joanne, a lifetime to live.
*conjure*. CONJURE. I love it. All the magic that we are, all the magic we make, are capable of making, in a single word.
That made me smile. Thank you Lydia.
Love! *special smile for “hike”*
Of course. We have great hiking here too but I was thinking about some of those lovely places there that I’m destined to see. 🙂
Love this.
Thank you so much Kathryn.
Soooo many people don’t “live” ! Great write ! I think I’m going to take a trip lol !
Ha! Okay… Fly, be free! 🙂
Ok, you talked me into
I wrote several pages of my book while my girls wrote, laugehd, jumped, joked, and kissed me. It was my best writing session ever.
Brilliant as usual Becky.
You go writer man! Good luck with all of it Lance. Thank you for your support.
“Think. Love. Conjure a story from nothing.”
❤ Love it, Becky! Beautiful!
Thank you! Go NaNoRiMo! <~~~ that's my writer girl cheer.
Great job! “Conjure a story from nothing.” Love that line, we do it every day don’t we? That’s why we are poets/writers isn’t it?! Blessings, Terri
Yes… It is, and we often conjure them from our life, our mind… Thank you!
I like to listen to Adele too! 😉 I wanna wake up in San Diego. Ha-ha! Let’s live!
Yay! Okay… Ready, go!
Thank you.
This is awesome, Becky. Living more fully always is, I think 🙂
*huge hugs*
Thank you my sweet friend.
I love the way you put this together, and the message is wonderful. Very nice!

Thank you Charles.
perfect and beautiful.
🙂
Awww — thank you so much, I’m grateful to hear those words.
Ok, so you KNOW the Santa Cruz part made me so very happy. Glad that you are still dreaming and planning on that! YAY!
Maybe Joanne can pick you up on the way and you two can come to California together? Ha!
Yep, I’ll get there eventually. I’ve got my brain working on it… Literally.
Thank you!
Hi Becky.
I’m getting: All the things that can be done now to appreciate the fact that we are here. Love the style of this poem and its simplicity. Yet it’s kind of deep too. Nicely done.
Yes, exactly.
Thank you for stopping by here and reading and helping me along my journey.
all right. great job here.
you touch me with you words, I’m bleeding for the speaker; I want him/her to be happy.
good job.
No bleeding, please. 🙂
Thank you for reading and such a passionate response.
I have to spend more time than I like to admit reminding myself to ignore the little petty annoyances that can bring me down and celebrate the little things that bring brief spurts of pure joy. This morning it was sourdough toast with butter and an unexpected thumbs up from my two year old for nothing in particular.
Yes! Exactly!
Thank you Kim.
woohoo…i am all about it and am willing to take up the challenge…if i wake up in a strange place tomorrow and cant get a ride can i leave you another comment…smiles.
Ha! Absolutely… I insist on knowing if I’ve inspired a “wake up in a strange place” leap. 🙂
All that running and I’m to tired to move, I’ll just go watch a movie. How about runaway bride? Run Lola Run? Run? I could make poor red “Run Red Run”..okay I’ve had my fun..haha enjoyed your verse.
🙂
Thank you.
This is so good! Love the pace, makes for a fantastic read…wonder what the wind might inspire tomorrow…convertible? Coastal or inland drive…it was an adventure in words…loved it!
Thank you so much for visiting!
Always love seeing you here and with such a great comment!
I like “an adventure of words”
This could so easily be painted on a wall, or mounted in a frame. I don’t mean to sound trite, but I think everyone should take something from this poem. It’s too easy to forget the simple pleasures.
You don’t sound trite at all, I appreciate your comment immensely.
Thank you.
Enjoyed the cadence of the words.
Powerful.
Thought provoking.
Peace,
Siggi in Downeast Maine
Thank you!
Quite unorthodox, but unique way to fish out the apt emotions.. Great work..!!
I like that it’s unorthodox because I don’t really write poetry in any correct form, I just write from my heart and what happens happens.
🙂
Just love this, Becky. You’ve really hit home with your musings. I used to live in Half Moon Bay, just north of Santa Cruz, a block from the ocean. What a wonderful thing to be able to come home from work and walk to the beach and sit and de-stress.
Oh… I want to explore HMB when I get to the Bay area.
Thank you for these kind words, I just could not explain how needed they were right now.
So that was today taken care of, whats on the agenda for tomorrow?
Manic, just totally manic.
Ha! Hmmm, I’ll have to make a list for tomorrow I guess. 🙂
I don’t think of this as manic… more as a reminder.
Thank you!
Your powerful affirmations make me want to make a gratitude list. Thank you.
Thank YOU! That’s a great compliment, to be able to spark an additional thought from something I wrote, that’s a little bit of magic.
Dear Becky…
you got the life in living nailed… with your line…
‘“not busy being born is busy dying.”
Perfect.. I liked the way you carried the whole being in now forward in your words… Thanks for sharing…

Well, I wish I could take credit for that line but it’s from Bob Dylan, one of the greatest poets, I believe.
I so appreciate you coming here and reading and commenting. Each comment is like a little nudge on the right direction.
“Live.”
i love the rhythm of this and the repetition makes it pick up speed! LOVE this! LOVE you! ♥
Thanks Dani.
